Automobiles in German Town Found Covered with Swastikas in Blood, Police Confirm

Authorities stated they were notified by a individual who discovered a car in Hanau marked with red-colored fluid

Roughly fifty vehicles have been marked with what appears to be blood from a person in the German city of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, police confirm police.

Vehicles, walls and postboxes were marked, sometimes with prohibited symbols, they reported in a official communication.

Law enforcement say they were alerted late on Wednesday, when a man observed that a car in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been marked with a red-colored fluid.

The substance had been applied in the pattern of a banned symbol, they reported.

Police then located multiple other smeared vehicles and house walls in the nearby vicinity.

Swastikas are banned in Germany under regulations banning the public display of Nazi symbols.

Officials say preliminary tests indicate the fluid was probably human bodily fluid.

"At present there remains no lead as to where it came from; investigators are not yet informed of any physical harm in association with the incident," they added.

City officials stated they were working "to unravel the case" and have appealed to the community for tips.

A high-ranking official commented the vandalism left him speechless and had to be addressed promptly.

"This event hits the center of Hanau and reawakens the pain of the extremist terrorist attack five years ago," he posted on online, mentioning the killing of nine individuals by a assailant targeting people of foreign heritage in 2020.
