Large-scale Russian Strikes Eliminate Electricity Across Ukraine's Capital

Power facilities targeted in Ukraine
The country's power facilities have faced increased strikes in recent weeks

Overnight, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have caused electricity outages in large parts of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

Nine people were hurt while local people in eastern neighborhoods were left without electricity and encountered interruptions to water systems, according to city officials.

Meanwhile, a minor was killed in a different aerial attack in the southeastern region in the country's south-east, as reported by local officials.

Moscow has intensified assaults on energy facilities over the last fortnight, while Ukrainian leadership has called for "concrete actions" from allies to increase pressure on Russia.

"What's needed is not superficial actions but strong steps - from the US, the EU and the G7 - in providing defensive weapons and implementing restrictions," mentioned in a public message.

Officials stated that numerous aerial vehicles and more than 30 projectiles struck the country's power systems, labeling such attacks as "premeditated" and against "critical infrastructure" as temperatures become colder.

Energy officials said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and maintenance teams were striving to restore power.

A barrage of missiles struck electrical systems and civilian homes in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people injured in the strikes on the capital have been hospitalized, according to municipal representatives.

Area administrators said the metropolitan region came under significant strikes throughout the evening. A minor was killed and several individuals were injured.

The attacks follow evenings of bombing campaigns in the territory, parts of which remain under the control of Moscow's military.

The whole nation is under warning for advanced weapon attacks, which are tougher to identify.

Government officials told reporters that Moscow was purposely seeking to demolish the electrical infrastructure, with assaults already impacting gas facilities.

Officials stated energy workers and government agencies were preparing for more assaults.
